Integral Agile Transformation Strategy and Plan
- Assist Business Unit (BU)/Function to derive the Agile Transformation Vision and define the future state of Agile/Lean organization
- Create 12-15 months rolling Agile Transformation Roadmap, clearly indicating when expected Agile Maturity levels will be reached
- Create quarterly Agile Transformation Plan based on the Lean Change Model
- Everything outside the quarter time-box will be kept on the high-level in the Agile Transformation Roadmap
- During the current quarter time-box, refine and prepare for the planning of the next quarter plan
- Prepare and execute Big Room Planning (BRP) session with BU/Function change agents
- Organize and facilitate Continuous Transformation Backlog Refinement sessions with BU/Function change agents
Outcome:
- Agile Transformation Vision and the future state of BU/Function Agile/Lean organization is defined
- Instrumented all five levels of Agile Planning: Vision, Roadmap, Release, Iteration and daily planning
- Customer focused product delivery, with rolling 12-15 months Roadmap and Portfolio Backlog
- Regular cadence Product Increment (PI) Planning, aligned to Value Stream delivery and Portfolio Strategic Themes
- Value Stream delivery with predictability > 80%
Integral Agile Transformation Assessment
- Assessment of the current business operation and its suitability to Agile and Lean delivery model
- Generate hypothesis based on assessment that will be expanded, analyzed, refined and tested
- Affirmed hypothesis will be the foundation for the LOB/Function Agile Transformation strategy
- Business Agility CoE Transformation Playbook provides general guidelines and is not “one size fit all” applicable. Each BU will empirically tailor it in order to achieve the most effective operating model, however general concepts and strategies will be proliferated through the enterprise.
Outcome:
- Tested and confirmed set of hypotheses regarding why the current BU/Function operation (BAU) is perceived to be less effective in delivery vs. Agile/Lean
- Deep Value Stream Analysis (VSA) with identified inefficiencies, waste that impedes efficient flow of value
- Specific and actionable recommendations for improving business outcomes with Agile delivery
- Operating procedure how Business Agility CoE will guide and assist BU/Function during transformation and implementing the recommended changes
Integral Coaching and Education - Embedded
- Provide fully dedicated and embedded enterprise level coaches, with specialization in large-scale transformations that will guide BU/Function change agents, from CxO leadership to contributors impacted by change
- Execute transformation based on Business Agility CoE Playbook
- Provide structured trainings and workshops in collaboration with the learning group and Agile CoE
- Provide Just-in-Time (JIT) trainings with the focus on the upcoming transformation deliverables
- Coaches will perform the following activities during each level of Agile Maturity:
- Level 1: Lead and guide transformation activities while the BU/Function is at the Level 1 (Crawl)
- Level 2: Shadow during the Level 2 (Walk) of maturity and lead/guide to Level 3 (Run)
- Level 3: Monitor during the Level 3 (Run) ensuring that proper base is set for Continuous Improvement
- Level 4: Ensure that the transformation is sustainable when transitioning it to the Level 4 (Fly)
